Savaria Infinity: the hydraulic home elevator

A submersible pump, variable-speed valves, and magnetic floor leveling give the Infinity a glide that hydraulic fans swear by. 1,000 lb standard, 1,400 lb in the HD model, up to six stops. It needs a machine room, and in return you get the smoothest stops of any drive type.

What stands out

  • Smoothest stops

Variable-speed valves ramp the cab gently into each landing and magnetic sensors level it exactly to the floor.

  • Submersible pump

The motor sits inside the oil tank, which muffles it. From the cab you hear almost nothing.

  • Low overhead

92 inches of overhead is the least of the traditional models, useful in older homes with low second-floor ceilings.

  • Capacity

1,000 lb standard, 1,400 lb HD for the heaviest power chairs.

  • Full finish catalog

Same cab walls, floors, ceilings, gates, and door options as the Eclipse and Zenith, including the new upgrade packages.

  • Manual lowering

Even with no battery, a technician or trained homeowner can lower the cab by valve.

Where the Infinity fits

The Infinity is for homes that have room for a machine room (a closet-sized space on the lowest level, near the hoistway) and want a hydraulic ride. It is common in larger new builds and in homes where a low ceiling at the top landing rules out other drives. If a machine room is not practical, the Eclipse or Zenith deliver similar capacity without one.

Questions we hear every week

Why would I choose hydraulic?

Ride feel. Hydraulic elevators accelerate and stop more gently than chain drives, and the Infinity's magnetic leveling lands it precisely at each floor. It also needs the least overhead clearance.

How big is the machine room?

About the size of a closet, on the lowest floor and typically within 10 ft of the hoistway. It holds the pump unit and controller.

Does hydraulic oil ever leak?

A properly installed system does not. The pump is submersible inside a sealed tank and the cylinder is in the hoistway, not underground.
