Stairlift installation by the people who answer the phone

A straight stairlift goes in within a few hours and you ride it the same day. We measure in person, put the price in writing, and our own employees install and service it. Serving central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland since 2011.

Savaria K2 stairlift installed on a straight carpeted staircase in a Pennsylvania home

Which stairlift is right for your stairs?

Most homes need a straight stairlift. If your staircase turns, has a landing, or curves, you need a curved stairlift with a custom rail. These are the straight models we install and stand behind.

What stairlifts cost

Real ranges from the quotes we write every week. The number on your written quote includes installation, the rail, and the first year of service.

The biggest factors are rail length, whether the staircase is straight or curved, and the options you choose. A folding rail at the bottom (so the track does not block a doorway) and a powered swivel seat are the two most common add-ons.

What installation day looks like

People worry it will be a construction project. It is closer to having an appliance delivered.

  1. We arrive with the lift in the van. For a straight staircase the rail is cut to your measurements in advance, so there is no waiting on parts.
  2. The rail mounts to the stair treads. Nothing attaches to the wall. On carpet the brackets sit under the pile. This is the longest part and takes about an hour.
  3. The chair goes on, the charger is plugged into a normal outlet. No electrician needed. The lift charges wherever it parks.
  4. We ride it, then you ride it. We set the seat height, show you the controls and the two remotes, and leave the manual. Total time is two to three hours.
  5. A year of service is included. If anything needs adjusting, you call us and we come out. After that, most lifts need a battery every three to five years and not much else.

Why people choose us for the install

  • Our own licensed installers

No subcontractors. The person who installs your lift works for us, and the same team handles service calls later.

  • We only sell what holds up

After 14 years we have narrowed the lineup to lifts that keep working with minimal service. We stopped installing brands that needed too many return visits.

  • Written price, no games

You get the price at the consultation, in writing, and it does not change. We do not do sign-today discounts.

  • Service after the sale

Batteries, charging contacts, adjustments. We service our installs and most other brands, including lifts from dealers that have closed.

  • Pre-owned and rental options

If the budget is tight or the need is temporary, a certified pre-owned unit or a monthly rental may be the right call. We will say so.

  • Local, between Harrisburg and York

Based in Etters, PA. Most of the homes we serve in central PA and northern MD are within an hour of the shop.

Questions we hear every week

How much does a straight stairlift cost installed?

Between $2,900 and $8,000 for a new straight stairlift, installation included. The spread comes from rail length, the model, and options such as a folding rail, a powered swivel seat, or an outdoor package. Most of the straight lifts we install land in the lower half of that range. Certified pre-owned units run $1,600 to $4,500.

How much does a curved stairlift cost?

Curved stairlifts start around $10,000 because the rail is bent to match your staircase. The final price depends on how many turns and landings the rail has to follow. See the curved stairlift page for the models and what drives the price.

How long does it take to get a stairlift installed?

For a straight staircase we can often install within a week of your consultation, sometimes sooner if we have the unit in stock. The installation itself takes two to three hours. Curved rails are built to order and usually take four to six weeks to arrive.

Will a stairlift damage my stairs or walls?

No. The rail mounts to the stair treads, not the wall, with a handful of brackets. If the lift ever comes out, you are left with small screw holes in the treads that are easy to fill. Carpeted stairs hide them completely.

Does Keystone Accessibility offer financing?

Yes. Qualified buyers can finance a stairlift with payments starting as low as $59 a month. Pennsylvania residents can also buy a stairlift sales-tax free with a doctor's note. Details are on our financing page.

Should I buy a stairlift online or from a local dealer?

Online prices look lower because they leave out delivery, installation, and anyone to call afterward. When you buy from us the install is included, the warranty is backed by the people who put it in, and service is a local phone call. That matters most two or three years in, when a battery or a charging contact needs attention.

Do I need a grab bar with my stairlift?

It is not required, but a sturdy grab bar at the top landing makes standing up from the seat easier and safer. We can install a stainless steel grab bar during the same visit for a small added charge.
