Savaria Prolift
Where the Prolift fits
Indoor commercial spaces where a platform lift is permitted (up to 14 feet of travel) but the owner wants an elevator-like experience: church sanctuaries with a split level, office lobbies, schools, and community buildings. It needs a hoistway, which we detail for your contractor, and the usual commercial permit and inspection process that we manage. For outdoor or open-platform needs, see the V-1504; for a true home elevator, the home elevator overview.
Questions we hear every week
Is the Prolift an elevator?
By code it is a platform lift, limited to 14 feet of travel in the US. In experience it is close to a small elevator, with an enclosed cab, doors, and a smooth hydraulic ride.
Can it go in a home?
Yes. It is used in larger homes where a full elevator is not wanted but an open platform is not either.
What construction does it need?
A hoistway with a shallow pit, a machine space for the hydraulic unit nearby, and power. We provide the drawings.
