Savaria Vuelift: the glass elevator that is also the hoistway

Round or octagonal, glass or acrylic, and self-contained: the Vuelift's structure is its own hoistway, so it can stand in a foyer or beside a staircase where no shaft could be built. Up to six stops. The Vuelift Mini brings the same idea to a 50 inch footprint.

What stands out

  • No hoistway to build

The elevator arrives as its own shaft. Site work is the floor openings and power, not framing and drywall.

  • 360 degree view

Glass all around. In a two-story foyer it becomes the centerpiece of the house.

  • Flexible placement

Through the floor in a stairwell, beside an open balcony, or in a corner of a great room.

  • Mini for tight spots

50 inches across, the Vuelift Mini fits renovations where a full-size unit would not.

  • Finish choices

Frame colors, panel materials, and cab fixtures to match the room.

  • Full safety package

Everything a traditional elevator has: interlocks, brakes, battery lowering, alarm and phone.

Planning a Vuelift

We confirm the floor structure around each opening, the ceiling heights, and the power location, then give you the cutout drawings. Installation takes several days as the hoistway sections stack. The Vuelift is a premium product; if the goal is accessibility on a budget, the PVE gives a similar glass look for less. If the goal is a showpiece, this is it.

Questions we hear every week

How is the Vuelift different from a PVE?

The Vuelift is a traditional cable-driven elevator inside a glass hoistway, with a full-size cab, interlocked doors, and up to 840 lb. The PVE is air-driven, lighter capacity, smaller footprint, and lower cost. Both are glass and both avoid building a shaft.

Does it need a pit or machine room?

No machine room. A shallow pit or a raised bottom landing is used depending on the model; we confirm during planning.

Can it go outdoors or on a balcony?

It is an indoor elevator, but it can attach to an interior balcony edge rather than passing through a floor.
