Savaria Telecab: an enclosed cab lift with almost no construction

The Telecab rides through a floor cutout inside its own enclosed tower. No hoistway, no pit, no machine room. The standard Telecab carries 500 lb; the Telecab17 carries 845 lb for larger power chairs. Both are built on the proven V-1504 platform lift drive.

What stands out

  • Vanishing lift

The cab rises through the floor and the opening closes behind it with a ceiling-matched panel. Downstairs, the tower stands against a wall like a tall cabinet.

  • Built on the V-1504

The same hydraulic drive as thousands of platform lifts in schools and churches. Simple, strong, and easy to service.

  • Two capacities

500 lb covers most riders with a walker or manual chair. 845 lb covers large power chairs and a companion.

  • Minimal construction

A carpenter frames the cutout and confirms the support wall; an electrician runs the circuit. Days, not months.

  • Clean styling

Full-height acrylic panels on the Telecab17, flush doors with grip handles, interior lighting, handrail, non-skid floor with a gentle threshold.

  • Obstruction sensing

Sensors stop the cab if anything is under or over it in either direction.

Telecab or Pollock?

Both travel through the floor with no hoistway. The Pollock uses a traction drive, plugs into 115V, and has a more furniture-like look. The Telecab is hydraulic, offers the 845 lb Telecab17, and is the better fit for heavy power chairs. We install both and will show you each. Questions we hear every week

What is the difference between the Telecab and the Telecab17?

Capacity and styling. The Telecab is rated 500 lb and offers two-door straight-through access. The Telecab17 is rated 845 lb, has one door, full-height acrylic panels, and a larger 36 by 54 cab option.

What construction does it need?

A framed floor cutout sized for the cab, a wall that can carry the tower, and a dedicated circuit. No pit, hoistway, or machine room.

Can it serve more than two floors?

No. The Telecab is a two-stop lift. For three or more stops look at the PVE or a traditional Savaria elevator.
